Homework # 2 (10 points)

You work for a company that manufactures aluminum rods in the machine shop.  The aluminum rods must be 601 mm +/-4 mm long to meet customer’s specifications. There has been a chronic problem with rods length being out of specifications causing high scrap and rework rates.

For a month, data was collected on the length of 30 aluminum rods in the machine shop. Also, three suppliers A, B and C that manufacture the same part, collected data on 30 aluminum rods at their own facilities (see data below).
