Creating Interactive Learning Centers
In this Application assignment, you will create interactive learning centers to support phonics in an age-appropriate environment. At least one of the centers should integrate technology. Specific components of literacy development will be fostered through the creation of a teacher’s guide. A range of approaches will be used for application in Response to Instruction (Rtl) tiers.

• Select instructional strategies to support development of identified reading skills.
Directions for Submission
1) Save and print the Module 3 Application PDF.
2) Create a Word or text document for your response. Use 12-point Arial or Times New Roman font.
3) Use APA (6th edition) format for the title page, references page, and in-text citations.
4) Compose an introduction and conclusion for your response.
5) Follow the directions to submit your final Word or text document.
Directions for Completion
Step 1. Select a primary grade level. Create five phonics learning centers to review and practice skills in an interactive, social, and reflective learning environment. Integrate technology in at least one of the centers. Each center should offer multiple approaches including but not limited to the following:
a) Target skill ~ i.e. matching initial sounds
b) Interactive element ~ i.e. using picture cards and a handout
c) Social engagement ~ i.e. share the outcome with a partner
d) Reflective response ~ i.e. draw a picture in your journal
e) An activity for each Response to Instruction (RtI) tier
Step 2. Design a formative assessment for the content presented at each center.
Step 3. Present a description of each center, directions, handout examples, and assessment options as a teacher’s guide.
